Simon Stevin's sailboat, 1602. Prince Maurits and a group of friends make a trip on the beach from Scheveningen to Petten in the sailboat built by Simon Stevin, April-May 1602. In the middle, the prince sits among his friends in the big car. Underneath a stone tablet with inscription in Latin (the assignment). Right and small sailboat, probably a prototype, with a few people on board. On the beach spectators, fishermen and two riders. At the top left a cartouche filled in with text in Latin. At the top right a cartouche filled in with text in French. Performance consisting of three parts.
