Saint Barbara, Master of Koudewater, c. 1470 Canvas Print
Barbara stands with her pointy shoes on her attribute, probably her father, Dioscurus. She has the gaze angled downwards, holding the right forearm slightly upwards and the left slightly down. On the wavy hair, which hangs down along the shoulders, she wears a wound pearl band decorated with some rosettes. The strongly pleated robe from the front, which is lined with fur, is included under the left arm, so that a second rug and underneath it the left shoe tip become visible. Around the waist an obliquely drooping belt with 'metal' capping pieces, to which a prayer cord, which ends in a brush, is knotted; around the neck a necklace, formed from a wound pearl band, three rows of pearls, a toothed edge, to which a unicorn. From the shoulders hangs the cloak, which is included under the arms. The king lies forward on the octagonal, sloping ground to all sides, and pulls his sword out of the sheath. He wears a crown, a fur-trimmed paltrok, lofts and pointed shoes. The groove around her skull assumes a (metal ?) crown.
