Sideboard, Kunsthandel E.J. van Wisselingh, c. 1902 Canvas Print
Buffet cabinet made of coromandel wood consisting of a substructure with sloping sides, a receding intermediate structure and a hood. The substructure is divided into five sections that are separated by styles with carved semi-columns. The three middle sections each contain two doors with a drawer above them. The other two parts form the beveled corners and contain a panel with a drawer above it. The doors consist of panels with carved crowned coats of arms and two wished lions amid leaf vines. Each weapon sign is different and is inlaid with palm wood. The panels on the beveled corners contain cut flower vines. The drawers are inlaid with ivory and palm wood and contain, as well as the doors, copper fittings consisting of key plates and handles in the form of masks and predators. In the receding intermediate building are four display cabinets that are separated from each other by means of styles with sculpted semi-columns and figures. Under the display cabinets is a wide openwork rule with inlaid medallions. A forward curved wall forms the transition from the display cabinets to the hood. The hood contains three openwork lines, two of which are on top of each other and one that recedes above. The two lines on top of each other are divided by nine styles, seven of which are crowned with sculpted figures. Around the bottom they end in lion heads or two entangled figures. The other two styles, which are located on either side of the middle style, are crowned with a sculpted coat of arms and end in a bull's head at the bottom.
