Large print of the siege of the huguenot stronghold La Rochelle in the years 1627 and 1628, which was carried out on behalf of the French king by the French army under the command of Cardinal Richelieu. Border work, parts at the top left and bottom right on one sheet (copy). On the upper part on the left the coat of arms of Louis XIII and center/right a representation (surrounded by military attributes) of inhabitants of La Rochelle begging the king for mercy. At the top right the letters 'OBSID', part of the inscription of the print. On the lower part a representation of a wooden structure in the sea and center/left a representation (surrounded by military attributes) of the dike that Richelieu had built in front of the entrance of the port to close the city.
