Print, consisting of 16 pages, of the siege of the citadel Saint Martin on the Île de Ré in 1627, which was carried out by English troops led by the Duke of Buckingham and was ended by French troops led by Cardinal Richelieu. Central is a cartographic representation of the island off the French coast, on which and around it it is teeming with army troops and ships. Above and below this central map two 'bands' with coats of arms, portraits and cartouches with episodes from the battle for Saint Martin. To the left and right of the map a textual explanation and legend in French and Latin.
