Silk Fabric with Colourful Painted Floral Pattern, anonymous, c. 1775 - c. 1800 Canvas Print
Runway green solid side in satin binding, the self sides shot through with narrow track yellow silk, the underside shot through with three and four narrow strips of green silk and with hanging fringe. The course is painted multicolored with a continuous pattern of upward swinging branches with berries tossed by tendrils with flowers, leaves and berries. Bottom right: Chinese characters in black and in red 'X 43' (English handwriting?). The very long track is wrapped around a piece of pine (?) that is wrapped in grey, hand-scooped, rather coarse paper. Condition: as new.
