He lies in full armor with his legs outstretched to the right on the flag, which leaves part of the rudder uncovered below his knees, as well as part of the two cannon runs, on which he rests with the left shoulder and head; His face is pointed at the viewer for a moment. Between the fingers of the left hand he holds the ribbon with the medal of Frederik Hendrik, the right includes the command staff. Tromp wears a harness and sabotons (harnessed shoes) with round noses and a flat collar, which is closed with a cord with akertjes; a sash is tied around the right arm.
