A soldier on guard, at his feet, to the right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand at the fork of the furket (musket fork) on which the barrel rests (no. 39), ca. 1600. In his left hand, in addition to the furket, there is also a burning fuse. With his right hand he takes this fuse.
