A soldier on guard, at his feet, to the right, holding a rudder (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand (no. 39), ca. 1600. With his right hand he brings a burning fuse to his mouth to blow it clean. It is therefore the same position as the one shown on the sixth print of the series.
