Steel natural needle lace with an ornamental soil that is used in Alençon lace, among others. Study material. The needle edge stitch used in the ornamental soil is also called 'point de Mignon', a fine diamond stitch. The edges of the steel are finished with feston stitches. The steel that was made as a study around 1925 includes a fragment of Alençon lace from the 18th century in which this diamond stitch was applied in the ornamental soil.
