The relief is driven from red copper plate, cimated and punched processed and then gilded at the front. In the middle, Mary is depicted as the mother of sorrows; sat, the arms crossed in front of the chest, the head and the gaze pointed upwards. In the frame is included at the top of the sudarium, the sweat cloth of St. Veronica with the image of Christ with the crown of thorns. The cloth is held up by an angel who is assisted by two putti. On the left and right two angels, standing on garlands with flowers, as well as the instruments of passion, namely from the bottom left to the top: the basket with the nails, the hammer and the pliers, behind which a cloth with the dice, the shield, the lance, the reed with the edikspons, the cross with the crown of thorns, the stick and the cloth, right under the silvers, the glove, the lantern, the sword, the torch, the ladder, the cord, the scourge, the rod, the column and the rooster. At the bottom a white cartouche, surrounded by rollers with a cherub head. Under the cartouche the signature: A. V. AMMELROI. Ano 1616. Above and below each time four holes as well as a ga t above the angel's head, to confirm the relief on the support. In a few places, including at the right hand of the angel, the plate is torn.
