The Empress Kômyôgô shrouded in a summer kimono (yukata) looks at a large path. Kômyôgô was the wife of Emperor Shômu (701-756) and founded the public bathhouses in Japan. One day she was tested by Buddha when he appeared before her as a leper. The path refers to this incident. With two poems.
