Two women to the left. According to the accompanying text, the woman on the left (pl. 1) is dressed in caraco of purple satin with green dots, a fichu of white gaze and a blue-and-white scarf that turns into a belt. (jupe pareil au caraco) On the head a hat of white felt with blue dots in the form of a high tapering cylinder. (This form is said to have been invented by the Flemings in the 17th century and was adopted by the English and French). The woman on the right (pl.2) wears a pelissa of white satin, lined with fur over a satin gown (jupe pareil a la robe) Red cylindrical bonnet with white bow on the head. 'Chignon and poire'. The print is part of the 31st cahier, 1st année, of the fashion magazine Journal de la Mode et du Goût ou amusemens du Salon et de la Toilette, Paris, 25 February 1790-1 April 1793.
