The four defecters of the Handbow Targets or St Sebastiaandoelen in Amsterdam, 1653. The defectionists are from left to right: Frans Banning Cocq, Jan van de Poll, Albert Dircksz Pater and Jan Willemsz Blaeu. The persuaders sit around a table in front of a cabinet in which show-off cups are displayed. They also hold in their hands a showbox, the king's staff decorated with a bird and the guild's shooter chain with a medallion in the shape of a bird. The goalkeeper brings in the guild's ceremonial silver drinking horn. On the left is a dog, on the right in the background two shooters.
