Cartoon of the French king Louis XIV, with glasses and with his left leg on a stool, who, like a city announcer, brings the news of the defeat in the battle of Cape la Hogue in which the French under Admiral de Tourville were defeated by the combined fleet of England and Holland under admirals Russel and Almonde, 29 May to 3 June 1692. In the left hand a shrill, in the right hand a long list with the names of the burned French ships, at his feet two barking dogs, in the background the sea battle. At the bottom two verses of eight lines in Dutch and French.
