The Prince's Fleet in the Harbor of Hellevoetsluis, 1688, Daniël Marot (I), 1688 Canvas Print
The fleet is prepared in the port of Hellevoetsluis for the journey of Prince William III and his army to England, 28 October 1688. A panorma statue of the fleet of Stadholder William III, with an explanation in a frame at the bottom (where also the title), left and right half a palm tree and a crowned shield with trumpeting at the top. The fleet seems to be largely ready at sea, but some ships are still loaded with cannons ready on the quay. At the front left is a ship marked (with a C) as the ship of 'sijn Hoogheijt in which were the Lord of Odijck and the Marschalk van Schombergh'. The latter can be found on the right side of the quay (marked with a B) where he sees the fleet in the company of the 'den Grave Carel sijn soon ende Heer dela Caillemotte Soon vande Marquis de Ruvignij'. Left and right palm trees, in the air angels with the prince's coat of arms.
