From the end of 1941, the air raid shelters in the dunes had to be evacuated. To provide shelter for this, the above-ground concrete bunker was built at Paasloo. This started in May 1942, in September the bunker was ready. The walls are 4.5 m thick and covered with bricks. 7000 cubic meters of concrete were used in the construction.
