Soul fishing: allegory of the zeal of the various religions during the Twelve Year Truce between the Dutch Republic and Spain. In a river landscape there are large groups of people on both banks of the river, on the water there are some rowing boats. On the horizon a rainbow. On the left side the Protestants and their supporters, the princes of Orange, Maurice and Frederick Henry, Frederick V of the Palatinate, James I, king of England and the youthful Louis XIII, king of France with his mother Maria de' Medici. In the boat in the foreground are the Protestant fishermen, their nets are marked with Fides, Spes and Charitas. On the right are the Catholics and their supporters: the Archdukes Albert and Isabella, General Ambrosio Spinola and the Pope worn by cardinals. In the Catholic boat, priests fish under the direction of a bishop. Copy to the painting.
