Trossachs Hotel became known following Romantic poetry originated in the area (including Sir Walter Scott: The Lady of the Lake). It overlooks Loch Achray. Ben A'An is a 461 meter high mountain. The Trossachs is closely taken the forest area between Loch Katrine in the west and Loch Achray in the east; but the name is also used to describe the larger area between Argyll and Perthshire, east of Ben Lomond.
