Theatre décor for the opera Frigga, Hans Gottlob Hensigen, 1787 Canvas Print
Between 1784 and 1792 Louis Jean Deprez stayed at the court of the Swedish King Gustav III, where he produced numerous designs for theatre decors, among other things. This is a design for the comic opera Frigga, for which Gustav III himself wrote the libretto. The design was printed and coloured by two of Desprez's students. From a cave seen on the left a temple with corinthian columns and on the right a man in a red cloak on the shore of a lake.
