Porcelain bowl, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze red, green, black and gold. On the bottom medallion with a four-clawed dragon between clouds and flames. On one half of the inner wall a Dutch ship on churning waves, the other half with twelve Dutch men in different poses. The edge with napkin work interrupted by a leaf vine and three cartouches with the head of a shishi (lion dog). The outside with two cartouches formed by a leaf vine containing a stylized eagle, two cartouches with a flower vine against a red background. Chrysanthemum vines between the cartouches. The lower half of the bowl with napkin work and around the foot a decorative band in underglaze blue. Marked on the underside with Emperor Wanli's six-character mark. European show in Imari.
