Three South African Khoisan women, Esaias Boursse, 1662 Canvas Print
An unfinished sketch of three women in an unclear environment, probably outside. By their appearance and clothing they can be recognized as members of the Khoisan in southern Africa. The two standing women wear a short skirt made of unrecognisable material and a shoulder jacket closed at the neck. The upper body, arms and legs are exposed. Around the calves, both women wear leg decorations, possibly from injured tendons or other material. The head is covered to the ears with a hat or a headband. The squatting woman on the far right is sketched very vaguely from behind. Sheet 83 from a sketchbook with 117 sheets.
