At the centre of this title page is a column with the symbol of Rome on top, the she-wolf that the twins Romulus and Remus suck. Besides her the personification of De Tiber. Above them flies an eagle, with in its claws a cartouche with the title of the series. At the bottom of the column the globe with the Roman Empire and the portrait of Johannes Stradanus in an oval frame with bust to the right. On either side the gods Diana and Mars. In the background the devastation of Troy and the flight of Aeneas with his father on his back and his son in hand. The print has a Latin caption.
