Tobacco box, Johannes Schiotling, 1776 Canvas Print

The round pot is equipped with a separate lid. It rejuvenates slightly and is closed at the top by a widened, straight edge. Along the lower edge runs a cast, openwork, wavy edge of C and S volutes and seed beads, interrupted by the three legs in the form of imposed, cast leaf volutes. The wall is fluted and decorated with a driven, ribbon-bound garland of bay leaves and berries, which is hung above each leg on a ring. The lid is made up of a low, convex, fluted part and a concave, high rising middle piece with a driven decoration of three layers of beamwise placed laurel leaves on top of each other and a flat top. On it rests a leafy, from which a bouquet of cast flowers rises, which serves as a bud.
