Tobacco box, Johannes Schiotling, 1782 Canvas Print
The round, slightly constricted pot has a loose lid. A molded openwork wavy rim with C and S volutes and seed beads runs along the lower rim of the pot, which is interrupted by the three legs in the form of molded leaf volutes. The wall is fluted and decorated with a driven, ribbon-tied garland of bay leaves and berries. Above each leg it is apparently fastened with a nail, from which a straight garland hangs. A widened, straight edge runs around the top. The lid is made up of a low, convex, fluted part and a concave, high rising center piece with an embossed decoration of two layers of laurel leaves placed radially on top of each other and a flat top. A bouquet of molded flowers rests on this, which serves as a bud.
