Photo album in cover of bated canvas. The bracts have a beige leaf motif. The album contains 100 album sheets with 514 photos including some panoramas composed of multiple prints. Most of the photos have a handwritten caption. They are recordings of tobacco and rubber cultivation on plantations and of oil extraction on Sumatra and Java: the fields, barns, buildings, villas, gardens and installations. Indian and European workers are also pictured. The latter category is sometimes referred to by names such as 'Henny', 'Leen', 'Kees', 'Chris', 'Roëll', 'Poolman-Beyne', 'Jelgerhuis-Swildens', 'Van IJzeren', 'v.d. Sta[...] -Oostmeijer', 'v. Zijp', 'Kroese', 'Herman' and 'Heinecken'. In addition, sights in cities and in the countryside are depicted including mountains, volcanoes, bays, sawas, parks, temples, hotels, shops, streets, railways and bridges. The sea voyage to and from the Dutch East Indies via the Suez Canal is also discussed.
