Two cannons manufactured by the foundry Albert Benningk or Benningh in Lübeck and donated to the States-General in 1669 as a thank you for the prompt payments of the artillery he supplied. Both cannons richly decorated with allegorical representations related to the struggle of the Republic at sea. On the cannons the weapons and names of the delegates in charge of the military equipment: Johan Eleman and Gerard Hasselaer. At the top a large allegorical weapon trophy with the Dutch Lion flanked by Minerva, Hercules and Neptune. Hereby a text tape with the assignment to the States of Holland and West Friesland. At the bottom a Latin text of 6 lines.
