Leenhoff is drawn up. Behind this statue you can see room 265, with the passage to the restaurant and the toilets. Room 269, Van der Hoop room seen from the east. At the back room 265, tower four, an arched passage with stained glass, to the stairwell in tower 4. Here are the original benches. In 1895 they are covered with leather. Granito floor with edges in diamond shape. The room is spanned by a curved overhead light. Brick koven rest on a list of consoles (flowers and fruits). A text explains to the room: 'By disposition of will of 22 December 1847 Adriaan van der Hoop, born 28 April 1778 in Amsterdam, died there 17 March 1854, kommandeur van de Orde van den Nederlandschen Leeuw, Ridder v.d. Order of St. Anna of Russia 2nd class, Member of the First Chamber of the States General, member of the States of the Province of N-Holland and of the Council of Amsterdam, Banker and merchant, his collection of Paintings articulated.' The monogram VdH can be found in several places, referring to the donor Van der Hoop. A frieze with cartels that includes names of painters whose work can be seen here, and leaf decorations forms the transition to the vault, carried by a stone frame of consoles. The vaulted surfaces at the ends of the room are decorated with 'the Queen's name crowned in a blasphemy'. The colours of the painted decorations are chosen in such a way that they form a 'gentle transition' from the dark walls to 'the large amount of light that comes in from above'. In 1917 the room was divided into three rooms. The Van der Hoopzaal, where the collection that the banker Adriaan van der Hoop had leased to the city of Amsterdam in 1854 and which had been loaned to the Reich by the city at the opening of the new Rijksmuseum building. Spacious room with collection of the Museum Van der Hoop.
