Vase, painted with chinoiseries on a black base, Meissener Porzellan Manufaktur, c. 1710 - c. 1715 Canvas Print

Baluster-shaped vase of red Böttger stoneware. The vase has a constricted, profiled foot and a short neck. The lid is a copy in wood. The original lid is missing. The vase is, with the exception of the inside, covered with black glaze, on which in multicolored cold lacquer and gold images are painted: on one side Chinese figures, sitting on chairs at a table, on the other side a fence for which a handle basket with flowers. On the sides a tree with Chinese figures and a dog and a plant, bowl, vase and crane. Between the foot and the body, between the shoulder and neck and on the flat edge of the foot runs a golden band with drooping lace-like ornaments. The constricted part of the foot is completely gilded. Some small restorations at the foot and the mouth edge. The painting is rather damaged.
