Vice-admiral Jacob van Heemskerck meets the king of Ternate on Banda, March 1599. Stretched under cloth between four palm trees, two gentlemen on chairs, assisted by an interpreter, are talking. Locals have grouped around them. In the foreground man in boat, to the right of it on the shore five men, the left of which with horn, sat on beam. Behind them four throwing skewers against wooden balustrade.
