View of a plantation, possibly Rust en Werk., Hendrik Huygens, after 1849 - before 1851 Canvas Print
View of a plantation with several buildings. Possibly it concerns plantation Rust en Werk aan de Commewijne river. Right at the lock is a tent boat in the water. The drawing shows four enslaved men, two of whom are busy sawing wood on the left. The many tree trunks on the ground may indicate that it is a wood soil. On the right are two men with hats on, with their feet in the water. They are holding a harpoon and are apparently fishing.
