View of Brussels, consisting of three parts, Abraham Dircksz. Santvoort, 1748 Canvas Print
View of Brussels in a bird's eye view, consisting of three parts. In front on the left a hunting party, consisting of several men and women on horseback with huddled falcons on their glove. One of them lurks and looks at the birds in the sky. The group is accompanied by some boys with hunting horns and dogs. At the top left, two putti hold a cartouche with the coat of arms of Brabant. Under the coat of arms two horns of plenty. In the middle front some deer. In the middle above a portrait of Philip IV in an ornamental frame. On the left sits the blindfolded Justice for armor and various weapons. On the right, the personification of force sits with branches in her hand for weapons and armor. Above it a cartouche with the name and function of the person portrayed. Right in front some riders, a carriage and cow herders. On the right side of the air you can see how the archangel Saint Michael, the patron saint of the city of Brussels, defeats the match. He holds a shield and a flaming sword and carries a diadem with a cross. The entire performance has a frame.
