In 1889, in tower 2, the tower above the eastern entrance, a movement with double percussion was applied by J.H. Addicks in Amsterdam. The 16th century bells came from the St. Maartenskerk in Arnemuiden which was demolished in 1857. The percussion was expanded in 1900-1902 to a carillon, for which the bells were cast by the fa. Petit & Fritsen in Aarle Rixtel. In 1961, the carrillon was revised and expanded with 23 new bells, cast by the same company. The present 13 old bells of the St. Maartenskerk of Arnemuiden did not seem to correspond in sound to the "new" of 1889. The photo of tower 3 dates from this time that tower 2 was put in the scaffolding because of this renovation.
