This city gate designed by Jacob van Campen was built between 1636 and 1638 to replace the wooden Tweede Heiligewegspoort. After the Fourth Explanation and the construction of the Leidsepoort (1664), this building had lost its function as a city gate, that same year it was demolished. On verso Dutch text.
