Dissection and examination of the skeleton of the whale (fin whale) washed up near Ostend on 4 November and the festivities on the occasion of the birthday of the kings Wilhelmina of Prussia on 18 November 1827. In the foreground on the right, four couples dance to music in space within the bones of the whale's lower jaw. The animal was bought by H. Kessels who exhibited the bones. In the caption on both sides of the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands the titles in French and Dutch. See also the pendant.
