The still unfinished ship of the line Hercules is in the pipeline in the shipyard outside Dordrecht, April 1782. The construction of the ship took place in the period 1781-1782 after shipbuilding drawings by Pieter van Zwijndregt at the new shipyard of ship carpenter I. Spaan. The launch took place on April 12, 1782. On the back of the print some scribbles and sketches. The print has a counterpart.
