A sperm whale washed ashore on the beach between Zandvoort and Wijk aan Zee on 20 February 1762. The sperm whale is watched by a crowd, some of whom have come by horse and cart. The sperm whale was sold on 5 March 1762 for 900 Guilders. In the middle of a cartouche with the other side of the washed-up sperm whale and an explanatory text in Dutch.
