Wijnkan, Carel Begeer, 1927 Canvas Print
Wine jug belonging to a four-part dinner tableware. The jug stands on a flat base plate and is made up of two stacked cylinders of different sizes, each of which is decorated with a flat edge at the top. The size reflects the other parts of the tableware; the diameter of the lower cylinder is equal to that of the sacrificial canister, the diameter of the upper one to that of the cup. Against one side is a triangular spout, against the side opposite a straight wooden ear, the incitements of which are encased in silver cuffs, and the end of which is decorated with a silver, folded strip. By means of a hinge, the jug is connected to the flat, in the middle raised lid, which is crowned by a ribbed wooden knob. The underside of all standing parts is decorated with three folded ribs.
